FREE Spring Break Drama Workshop

Come out and play with Melissa Brenner from First State Improv at our week-long Drama Workshop that will culminate in a live performance! Experience “improv,” short for improvisational theater — a live performance in which the actors make up scenes, dialogue, and characters on the spot. No experience necessary. Annual Builder’s Dash 5K Run/Walk fundraiser

Run. Walk. Build Homes! Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity (CDHFH), in collaboration with community partners and sponsors, is thrilled to announce the Builder’s Dash 5K Run/Walk on April 11, 2026. The event will be held at the Rail Haus in downtown Dover. Proceeds from the event will benefit CDHFH’s programs as they continue to build in Kent County on the road to their 100th home.

Participants will embark on a unique course winding through downtown Dover, showcasing homes built by CDHFH. They will also be able to meet future homeowners who are currently partnering with CDHFH to build their home.

Registration is $40 per person including fees. An event t-shirt, post-race refreshments courtesy of Rail Haus and music by TKO Productions are also included with registration. PAWS for Reading

PAWS for Reading: Bring your child to the library to read aloud for 10 minutes to a friendly therapy dog provided by PAWS for People. Studies have shown that reading aloud to animals can actually help children improve their reading skills. This is a great chance for beginner, reluctant and even beginning English learners to practice in a non-judgmental atmosphere. Teens and adults are welcome to read too! First come, first served. Sunday, April 19 – Interfaith & Community Day

  • An interfaith service unites diverse religious communities in prayers and reflections focused on gratitude, healing, hope, and peace for Delaware’s future.
  • The “Community Day” provides opportunities for shared choir performances, youth participation, and open dialogues to strengthen bonds across faiths, neighborhoods, and cultures.

Foraging on the Green

Visitors are welcome to the John Bell House to learn about the history of foraging, as well as participate in searching for various plants that can be commonly found in Delaware. Examples of commonly foraged plants will be available for viewing in the Bell House, as well as printouts that visitors can take home to help them identify plants available in Delaware. Visitors will also be encouraged to learn how to utilize plants they can find, from making dyes to basket weaving. This program is FREE to the public, and requires no registration.

Milford VFW Shrimp Boil

Delaware Friends of Folk Coffeehouse Concert Series

Delaware Friends of Folk resume their coffeehouse concert series at Earle Teat Music, located at 3098 N Dupont Hwy, Dover, Del. Doors open at 7 p.m. and admission is $7 for members of Delaware Friends of Folk, $10 for non-members, teens are half-price, and those 12 and under are admitted free. Fresh-brewed coffee, freshly baked cookies, and other snacks will be available. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and seating may be limited. The April 18 coffeehouse concert features singer, songwriter and record producer Tony Sciuto. From Top 10 hits to legendary collaborations, Tony Sciuto has been a mainstay of the music industry since his debut song was covered by the Bay City Rollers in 1976. A prolific songwriter, Tony’s credits include Tina Turner’s “Stronger Than The Wind,” Don Johnson’s “Last Sound Love Makes,” and works for B.J. Thomas and Little River Band. As a performer, his career is equally storied. He spent seven years as the pianist for Little River Band, toured with PLAYER (“Baby Come Back”), and famously rocked the screen in the Full House band, Jesse and the Rippers, with John Stamos. Tony enjoyed a band reunion on The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon and in 2014 and 2016 released two solo CDs, Under the Radar (Vivid Sound, Japan) and Temptation Alley (P-Vine Records, Japan).
