Kentucky Derby Day Watch Party

For over 35 years, nonprofit Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding (SDTR) has relied on sponsorships, donations and fundraising to continue its mission of enriching the lives of local children and adults with special needs, one stride at a time.
Each May for the past three years, SDTR has transformed the riding arena for the most prestigious horse racing event at its perennially sold-out Kentucky Derby Day Watch Party.
This year’s festivities at the SDTR Milton stable arena will once again include: a watch party of the Kentucky Derby, an auction-parade of horses, best hat and crazy pants contest, and an opportunity to take a chance on win, place, or show. We will be serving heavy hors d’oeuvres, and open bar with an assortment of drinks including the famous Mint Julep.
The Kentucky Derby Day Watch Party is one of this deeply rooted Sussex County nonprofit’s major events to support SDTR’s mission of service through its family of therapy horses, local riders, certified instructors, and passionate volunteers. This event will directly support its therapeutic riding program and provide scholarships to those who would otherwise be unable to benefit from its transformative services.
Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding (SDTR) is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization that was established in 1988. The Mission of SDTR is to improve the physical and emotional wellbeing of children and adults living with disabilities through equine-assisted services in a supportive environment for riders and their families. Our participants have a variety of conditions including autism, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, ADHD, Down syndrome, cognitive and emotional behavioral issues. We have also implemented a Veterans’ Program. SDTR strives to bring the advantages of therapeutic riding and other equine-assisted activities to all members of the community who can benefit.

Golf Classic

The Salisbury University Foundation, Inc. invites golfers, sponsors, and community members to join the annual SU Golf Classic on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. Held at the Hyatt River Marsh Golf Club in Cambridge, this exciting event is more than just a day on the greens—it’s an opportunity to support Salisbury University student scholarships while enjoying a premier golf experience. This year’s SU Golf Classic is shaping up to be an incredible day of friendly competition, networking, and giving back. The event features contests, raffles, prizes, and a barbecue picnic.
Cost: Team sponsor levels are $625 for a two-person team or $1,250 for four. Additional course sponsorship opportunities are available.

Salisbury Police K9 Fundraiser

Come out and help us support the K-9’s! Funds raised go towards training, sustaining, and purchasing new dogs.
20% of all dock bar sales will go to the Salisbury Police K9 Fundraiser through the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore.
11th Annual Car and Truck Show
