Reminded of this artist, not just by our conversations before about the remake of Gone in 60 Seconds, but also from casually watching The Weird Al Show. Apparently (albeit likely tongue and cheek) it is referenced that something that’s cool is “Moby.” But then came the real tricky part, deciding which Moby song is the most well known, the most ICONIC. He’s had several big hits throughout the years and even after consulting my coworkers I did make a decision. I ended up choosing the song he did as a collaboration with Gwen Stefani.
However, the story doesn’t end there with Moby. Brian Chase gave me his recommendation for a Moby song based on a completely different reason I was considering the song. Aside from hearing it on the same album that features South Side (but the original sans Gwen Stefani version), I associate it most with the remake of the movie Gone in 60 Seconds, and based on the comments on the video a lot of others do as well. But Brian, who is our resident sports guy for Eagle 97.7 said it’s got strong ties to Phillies baseball player Bryce Harper.
